Do you want to go beach bumming on beautiful white sand beaches, enjoy nature and know more about our country's culture and history? Read on because you will find them all in the mystic island of Siquijor.
This small island located in the Central Visayas region is also called the Island of Fire. It is a one-hour vessel ride from the port of Dumaguete. Siquijor is composed of these equally charming municipalities: the capital of the province Siquijor, Larena, Enrique Villanueva, Maria, Lazi and San Juan.
Upon arriving at the island, you will be greeted by the Siquijor sign. Tricycle drivers will offer you their land tour rates that cost around Php1000 that can be divided up to four people. You can also choose to rent a motorbike to personally tour the island.

Siquijor Island Destinations
Guiwanon Spring Park
The driver first took us to this spring park that serves as a sanctuary for various marine species. It only costs Php10 to explore this marine reserve.
Lazi Church and Convent
Lazi Church and Convent is known for its huge convent and is declared as a National Cultural Treasure by the National Museum of the Philippines. This cultural heritage is also one of every artist's favorite subject. While we were on the church grounds, I noticed artists painting this Roman Catholic church.

Cambugahay Falls
Our next destination after Lazi Church and Convent is Siquijor's three-tiered waterfalls, Cambugahay. This natural cascading waterfalls is undeniably Siquijor's best destination. A dip on its waters on a hot afternoon was perfect. Never also miss taking the Tarzan swing adventure.
Salagdoong Beach and Resort
We took our lunch at Salagdoong Beach and Resort. Yes the resort offers a variety of delectable foods. Do you want to go cliff jumping and beach bumming? Well, heed on to Salagdoong.
Century Old Balete Tree
Situated at Campalanas, Lazi Siquijor is a century old balete tree. This tree was believed to be about 400 year old. Offered at this tourist spot is their enjoyable natural fish spa and of course we never missed dipping our tired feet.

Capilay Spring Park
Siquijor is blessed to have a lot of natural cold springs and this spring park nestled in the town of San Juan is one of them.
Sunset at San Juan
We took our dinner at one of San Juan's barbeque stalls and watched Siquijor's beautiful sunset. We thought of it as a perfect view to end one memorable island experience.
Where to stay in Siquijor
There are a lot of hotel and resorts accommodations in the island. There are rooms for backpackers too. Me and my friends stayed at Dondeezco Beach Club and Resort. The resort already has the following amenities: billiard pool tables at the club house, a wide beach front plus the swimming pool. They also serve delightful foods for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Whatever you want for a resort, you can find it at Dondeezco.
