Dumaguete city is one of my favorite go to destinations because of Sans Rival Cakes and Pastries. If you desire for cakes checkout their menu and of course Sans Rival, a frozen layered cake consists of cashew meringue and buttercream. Likely food tastes better when you share it with friends.

This city in Negros Oriental is also home to Silliman University known for being a great school producing competitive Accounting, Engineering, Medicine and Nursing professionals across the globe. This 29-hectare campus surrounded by acacia trees has buildings that are worth-visiting. Its open fields can be a nice venue for event gatherings. Buglasan Festival the most awaited festival-of-festivals in Negros Oriental is a week long celebration showcasing the arts and crafts of the Negrenses. It is held during October as a thanksgiving for the abundant harvest of the land and sea.
The city of gentle people has 780-meters long Rizal boulevard where you can enjoy watching its sunrise and sunset. Historians say that Dr. Jose Rizal who passed by this city on the way to his exile at Dapitan enjoys strolling along its shores. People manage to preserve its cleanliness over the years. A nearby tourist attraction, the province of Siquijor is a two-hour boat ride away.
Other neighboring attractions in Dumaguete City are Apo Island and Manjuyod Sandbar. Apo Island is prominent to tourists for snorkeling because of its various species of turtles and its beautiful coral reef system. Manjuyod sandbar being tagged by people as the mini Maldives of the Philippines is also an hour ride away.
